PERSONALITY: An explorer at heart, Molly loves trying new things and meeting new people, and gets bored when things become too routine. Her lack of sight sometimes makes it hard for her to maneuver, but she is willing to keep working and exploring until she can find her way around by touch and smell. She's very active and excitable, and rarely sits still unless she's fishing, sometimes to the point of irritating people around her. Nonetheless, she loves making new friends, and works hard at what she does.

HISTORY: Molly was born on the outskirts of Opelucid City, the middle child of three. Her parents, two Zweilous who were highly distrustful of the humans in the city, initially forbade her and her siblings from straying too far from their home. She spent her early childhood exploring as far as her parents would allow her to and playing with her older and younger brothers. Her older brother taught her how to fish, and they would spend long days at the nearby river catching and releasing fish Pokémon, sometimes keeping some of them to bring home for dinner. Life passed by slowly for the little Deino, and for the most part she was content to obey her parents and stay close to home.

    As Molly got older, she began to get bored of the limited freedom her parents allowed her. She began to wonder about the city and the humans that lived there, and the more she wondered, the more she wanted to find out for herself. During one fishing trip, she was met by a Blitzle who lived in the city. They struck up a conversation, and the Blitzle, named Zach, was more than happy to tell her everything he knew about Opelucid. He explained to Molly that the humans that lived there weren’t anything to be afraid of, and that he actually lived with a human himself and worked as a delivery boy at the bakery his human friend owned. He invited Molly to accompany him back to the city for a day and follow him around during his work, an invitation that, while tempting, she hesitated to accept. She told Zach about her parents’ distrust of humans and how she had never gone farther than they allowed her to, and her worries about how they might react if they found out she had gone to the city by herself. Zach listened to her worries, and offered to come with her back to her house so he could talk to her parents about it, which Molly agreed to.

    As was expected, Molly’s parents were against the idea, even after hearing Zach’s side of things, and it was several weeks before they would even consider letting her go. Zach continued to come by every couple of days after the first visit to say hello and update Molly on the goings-on in the city, and the two quickly became close. Molly’s brothers also took a shining to him, and slowly their parents came to trust him as well. After about three months of this, they finally decided to allow Molly to accompany Zach to Opelucid City on the condition that her older brother went with them. Needless to say, she was ecstatic. Her brother agreed, preparations were made, and Zach met them the following morning to lead them to the city.

    The two Deinos spent the day following Zach as he made his deliveries, meeting locals and learning about various parts of Opelucid. Molly found herself loving the sounds and smells that were so vastly different from the home she had known for years. She loved the city enough that she began coming back, on her own, and following Zach around. It got to the point where Zach’s human friend offered her a job as a delivery girl, an offer which she readily accepted. By this time, her parents had grown used to her outings, and even seemed proud that she was coming into her own. Molly stayed at the job for the rest of her time in Opelucid, making several new friends and becoming intimately familiar with landmarks around the city.

    As much as she loved her job, Molly eventually began longing to experience the world outside of Opelucid City. Having originally resigned herself to the fact that she probably would never leave her home all her life, her experiences as a delivery girl had given her hope that she could get out and live on her own someday. To her surprise, her parents felt the same way. Ever since she had first come to them with Zach and asked them about going into the city, they had suspected that the day would come when she would want to travel even further afield. They told her about Pokette Town, a small, but friendly community that could be reached by train and that welcomed Pokémon and humans from all walks of life. To Molly, it sounded like the perfect place to start.

    About two months later, Molly was standing on a platform in Nimbasa City’s train station. Her parents and brothers saw her off, the first time any of them had ever set foot outside of Opelucid City. Amidst plenty of hugs and kisses, as well as a promise to her persistent parents that she would call at least once a week, she boarded the train and headed off to what she hoped would be the next chapter in her life.
 

EXTRAS:
-Molly’s hobbies are fishing, collecting oddly-textured odds and ends, planting flowers, listening to music, and exploring.

-Molly loves to listen to music, especially live music, no matter what the genre. Her absolute favorite genre is jazz blues.

-She has a sweet tooth, and will gladly eat any candy, pastries, and sweet berries she can get her paws on. She dislikes spicy foods of all kinds.

-Although she’s a delivery girl, she’ll help with odd jobs if asked.

-Since Molly has no sight, she often relies on her senses of smell and touch to get around. She needs time to get used to the smells and sounds of new places, and often bumps into people until she learns their scents. She has a hard time navigating forest areas due to how similar everything feels and smells.

-Her favorite season is spring because she loves the scents of the flowers that bloom.

-Molly hopes to one day fully evolve into a Hydreigon so that she can see all the things that she currently can’t.

-Molly is afraid of fairies. Her parents would tell her stories about Fairy-type Pokémon spiriting away bad little dragons in order to keep her in line. To this day she believes every word.

-Her delivery bag is a gift from Zach. It’s worn and patched-up in some places, but still quite sturdy.
